Caring For Others Receives Grant From Delta Community Credit Union

ATLANTA, Ga. (February 10, 2022) — Caring For Others, a 501c3 working to eradicate poverty, has received a grant from Delta Community Credit Union to provide resources to people suffering from the effects of poverty in the Metro Atlanta area. Located in the southside of Atlanta (3501 Browns Mill Road, SE), Caring For Others distributes approximately 80,000 pounds of food and supplies to over 500 families per day.

The Delta Community Credit Union Grant will play an integral role in supporting many of Caring For Others goals including:

  • Bridging the Digital Divide among Atlanta’s students suffering from Covid-19 academic regression by ensuring equal access to technology through remote learning and quality educational and reading materials
  • Providing healthcare screening protocols for all families and children during the intake process of emergency assistance, programs and services.
  • Financial stabilization in maintaining a safe household for families during the intake process of emergency assistance, programs and services.

“We are honored to be able to pursue our goals with the support of Delta Community Credit Union,” said Caring For Others Founder and CEO Eslene Richmond-Shockley. “The funds will be immediately put to use supporting the families in our community to ensure there is equal access to education, healthcare, and housing.”

Caring For Others is committed to giving those in need a chance to live with dignity by restoring hope and providing the tools and resources required to break the cycle of poverty and, ultimately, sustain an overall improved quality of life. The non-profit offers nine signature programs, ranging from sending a Convoy of Care to areas struck by disaster to creating International Microeconomic Centers.
